Intergenerational Communications: the Digital Natives

Nick Skytland- NASA Engineer and McCombs MBA

Program Title:  Intergenerational Communications and the Digital Natives

Ahh thank you Nick Skytland from NASA for your  program last thurs.  Clarification of the “generations” -  Relating these groups and their interaction to current events, and more important, historical trends!  This is a pattern over the centuries, and because it’s a pattern, you can see in relief the difference this time around.

Here we go, fasten seatbelts please – from the machine age to the information age.

Their is a new flux – and it’s everywhere.  And the interest from the global corporate world is monetizing these dispersed ideas.

“Is education necessary in the information age?”  quite a question.  Are Harvard and Rice and other institutions really putting their in-depth education offerings on the net for free now?

And the discussions  about 6 of them  the one guy explaining the more value he generates for his projects and his employer (a global corporation)  through skillful use of social media growing relationships with with ever-more important customers, suppliers, partners etc.  -  the more of a gap between his current salary and the increasing marginal revenues as a result of his efforts…

Begs the question of “how we do business”    “how we define success”
